Our yoga classes are taught by Olav Solberg who has studied and practised yoga for more than 30 years. Olav teaches Hatha Yoga and his approach could be considered as more of a “moving meditation” than an aggressive workout.

Hatha Yoga is not just a system of physical exercise, it is part of the ancient philosophy of yoga, which is spiritually based. The discipline of hatha yoga is holistic in nature and is aimed at harmonising body, mind and spirit. Its practice includes carefully devised postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama) and deep relaxation.

There are a number of styles of hatha yoga being offered in the West, which can be confusing for anyone in search of a yoga class. We teach classic hatha yoga, which is a more gentle approach than power yoga classes for example.

Our classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced students. Emphasis is placed on the correct performance of the postures, breath control and relaxation. Each class ends with a period of guided relaxation.

Classes take place at our centre in Birkenhead on the North Shore, and we have parking available onsite. You can contact Olav on should you have any questions.
